End of 2020 Season’s Celebration with Madhusuara Breeders

The year 2020 was full of surprises and challenges for everyone, including Madhusuara breeders. During the year, the Head of Breeders, Wayan Susana, approached the Village Head of Melinggih Kelod to discuss a continuation of the breeder program and  the Pemuda Banjar Pengaji to carry out tree planting in the banjar area. In addition, the breeders have also made various efforts to increase public awareness to participate in preserving the Bali Starlings.

The celebration on December 25, 2020 was attended by all members involved in the Begawan Foundation Breeding and Release Center, BF Learning Center, Madhusuara Breeding Association, and Melinggih Kelod Village. The activity which was held at BF’s Breeding Center, was also attended by representatives of Bintara Pembina Desa (Village Guidance Officer), I Nyoman Yudiarta and Binmas Polri (Community Development Police ), I Nyoman Sadia Wiantara.

This meeting was originally intended to familiarize all members involved in Bali Starling Conservation. However, this opportunity was not one to be missed by the Head of Madhuswara Breeders. He discussed with all attendees the great opportunity for Melinggih Kelod Village to become an ecotourism village with the presence of Bali Starlings in the Melinggih Kelod area. He also briefly delivered the plan to release a few pairs of Bali Starlings involving the community. He also convinced all attendees that to take part in preserving the Bali Starling and the environment would assist to create an ecotourism village. This is certainly a spirited beginning for 2021 for Begawan Foundation, Madhusuara Breeding Association, and Melinggih Kelod Village. (Zeni Natalya)
