“After engaging in activities at Begawan, Agus has become more cheerful, enthusiastic, and his confidence has grown significantly. Agus now aspires to be a leader in every activity, has become more articulate in expressing opinions, and feels more confident due to the many lessons taught at Begawan that are not yet covered at school.”

Begawan Learning Centre is unwavering in its commitment to implementing a holistic approach to education, recognising the paramount importance of both intellectual growth and character development. This commitment stems from our belief that education transcends mere academic achievement and knowledge transfer; it is about shaping individuals equipped to navigate the complexities of the world with confidence, resilience, creativity, empathy, and a strong sense of self.
“I feel proud because Kayela has become braver and more confident than before… She has gained more confidence, takes the initiative to help with school homework, and has become more communicative and expressive.”

“I am thrilled to be a part of the mushroom class. Through this class, I have learned about business. It inspired me to try entrepreneurship in school, such as selling stickers. I was taught to have the principle of never giving up.”
(Gayatri – The Eco Warrior)
Character development plays a pivotal role in shaping our students into well-rounded individuals. In real-life scenarios, individuals often encounter situations that demand not only knowledge and skill but also the ability to make ethical decisions, communicate effectively, and collaborate with others. The holistic approach at Begawan forms a robust character, emphasising leadership qualities, collaborative skills, and the significance of setting an example for others.
“In the past, when I was assigned to a group with Kak Amy, I used to stay quiet and not contribute much, but now I can cooperate much better. As leaders, we must set an example for our juniors, then we organise and distribute tasks.”
(Welian – The Eco Warrior)
“Teguh, who used to struggle with socialising, now desires to connect with many people.”

Furthermore, at Begawan Learning Centre, our holistic approach prioritises students’ emotional well-being, creating a learning environment that sparks curiosity, builds confidence, and makes learning an enjoyable experience. We believe that fostering happiness in education is crucial. Individuals who find joy in the learning process develop strong emotional intelligence, better equipping them to manage stress, navigate challenges, and build positive relationships, thereby enhancing their overall well-being and success.
“My favourite theme is Biomimicry because it’s so much fun. I enjoy activities that involve movement, like when we dance like hornbills during the biomimicry session. I am happier to learn because it turns out that learning is enjoyable.”
(Satria – The Eco Warrior)
Thematic learning is also exciting as we get to watch many videos and work on projects, like making an island out of paper pulp. I also love the final project, especially when there’s a performance, and I get to be a performer. Since I started studying at Begawan, I have been very happy because I have made many friends and gained a lot of new knowledge.
(Tu Agus – The Eco Warrior)

Begawan Learning Centre is dedicated to harmonising the pursuit of knowledge with the cultivation of character building. By prioritising character development alongside intellectual growth, we strive to empower our students not only with academic proficiency but also with the essential qualities of resilience, creativity, empathy, and leadership. As we continue to create an environment that fosters joy in learning, we are confident that our students will not only excel academically but also navigate life’s complexities with confidence, integrity, and a deep sense of purpose. Authentic quality education not only nurtures intelligent individuals but also fosters the development of well-rounded character, and it is this calibre of education that our local children at Begawan rightfully deserve.
